What product made your pregnancy easier?

Crocs actually allowed me to walk for the last three months. Seriously. Also my Nintendo DS Lite which actually stopped my brain from turning to complete mush. Seriously!

What did you love about being pregnant?

I felt very connected with the whole experience. I just embraced it and loved those quiet times with my hand on my bump chatting to the bambino or making her listen to Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black. Gosh I hope she doesn’t grow up melancholy… She did get a lot of jazz and Michael Jackson though…

What did you hate about being pregnant?

Being unlucky with illness. Keeling over after Wagamamas and being rushed across London to hospital, getting vertigo, anaemia and an ear infection at the same time, and then getting a bad back. It did get me signed off work early though…

Best piece of advice you received about pregnancy or birth?

Keep an open mind about pain relief but also make sure that your partner knows your boundaries. I ended up taking everything on offer because I am no martyr!

Worst piece of advice you received about pregnancy or birth?

Well it wasn’t advice as such, it was more the realisation that not one person in the medical profession that I dealt with during the pregnancy had a clue what the actual size of the bambino was. I was told repeatedly that she’d be small, was sent for 2 growth checks, probably worried myself, and in the end she was born 8lbs… One of my best friends was told she’d have a huge baby…and it was just under 6lbs.

What is your best piece of pregnancy shopping advice?

If you can, buy your pushchair after your baby is born because you really have no clue how you’ll use it until they arrive. Also get sports bras from Primark to sleep in because they were far better than the ones I tried from M&S. Not very sexy though…
